In the announcement made by Google, Bard provided misleading information.
Big Tech companies are working feverishly to develop products that can compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT, a groundbreaking artificial intelligence chatbot that is also the app with the most rapid user growth ever recorded. According to a blog post on the Google website, the company's entry, which is called Bard, is going to be launched "in the next weeks(Opens in a new tab)," but it is already doing a great job of imitating ChatGPT by creating incorrect information.
The post on Google's blog about Bard includes an animated graphic that is intended to demonstrate the user experience of Bard. To make a long story short, the artificial intelligence that is included in the graphic incorrectly asserts that the James Webb Space Telescope captured the very first picture ever taken of an exoplanet. In addition, Google tweeted the animation with the remark embedded within it.
Webb took its first photo of an exoplanet in September of last year, but that wasn't the first picture ever taken of any exoplanet; that achievement was achieved in 2004. (Opens in a new tab) Webb wasn't the first spacecraft to take a picture of an exoplanet (Opens in a new tab).
It is not quite clear what took place, but the fact that Bard's assertion concerning James Webb is so recent raises some eyebrows. The information contained in a language model is not taken from lists of facts and repeated verbatim; rather, it is generated by extremely complex systems that are designed to finish sentences. Because the information contained in sentences discussing the more recent past has simply not been written as many times, it is possible that an artificial intelligence will make more errors than typical in those sentences. It's possible that this is one of the reasons why the ChatGPT model won't tell you much about the years after 2021. (Opens in a new tab). http://sentrateknikaprima.com/
This blunder sheds light on the persistent issue that all generative AI technologies overlook truth value, which is, in turn, possibly a valid reason for customers to continue using traditional search engines. Bing will sometimes misrepresent the information it finds, and you may see responses that sound convincing but are incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate, according to Microsoft, who notes (Opens in a new tab) that "Bing will sometimes misrepresent the information it finds." Microsoft is currently in the process of integrating an answer engine that is similar to ChatGPT into its search engine, Bing. https://ejtandemonium.com/
